The death of Ray hits Trish hard. She had only known Ray as her father for less than a year, and now he’s gone. Dead at the hands of the game and she blames Reese for it. At the funeral she acts out toward Reese, but he keeps his cool. Later that night his coolness is put to the test and the men of the crew witness something they thought they’d never see—Reese and Slim go to blows. The fight is quickly broken up, but the men see that the damage is done; Reese decides that he has had enough of the crew and ventures out on his own.
Styles has been given a few million from LaTanza to do three things. One—get access to her husband’s money which she believes Carlos to have close to twenty million. Two—kill the Russian Dmitri. And the most important of them all number three—get her daughter and deliver Carlita to her. Styles seizes the opportunity when he’s given dirt on Lucky and finds out that Reese is at odds with the crew and offers him one million to help him with the Queen Pin’s wish list. Wow...wow...and WOW!!!!! My stomach was in knots!!!!! Man oh man.... Wow!!!!! For as grimy as Styles a$$ was, man, I'm gon' miss him! Can't wait to see what dude comin' in from NY gon' be about. Damn, Ima miss Styles! I was all like, I can't wait 'til his grimy a$$ get got, and then when he did I was like... Noooooo!!!! And then Carlos too! Wtf?! I think Alex tryna get me on Xanax! I swear I'm hurtin' behind their deaths, fa real! But that LaTanza...I want Chavez to eat her a$$ up!!!!! Set her up nice and sweet, and then devour her a$$!!!!! Okay. So, I'm feelin' where Trish is comin' from an' all, but I'm also feelin' Slim. Even more so. I mean, she did know what he was about. And I do feel like she was old enough to view the entire photo, you know, the ish in the background, as oppose to just the man that was the main focus. It's always background visuals...always. Thing's gettin' all tricky an' conditional now. Slim needs him a Tesha. I'm still wondering is her an' Bobby gonna accidentally fall in love ;-) I'm likin' Phoenix for Noonie. He definitely needed a fix of what she brought him. I can't get a good plug on Lisa's a$$ though. Maybe if she'd been in jail regretting what she did to Slim, and sending him letters trying to explain her way out it, I would get a better feel for what she's experiencing now. If I remember correctly, wasn't she pleasuring herself to memories of the ball player while locked up? Dream about his a$$ now, and leave Slim the hell alone! I know if/when she come at him he's gon' tap that a$$ for ol' time sake!!!! Reese deserves his rank! He is that nucca fa sure! And I'm so feelin' Charlize for him! God, I don't want nothin' happenin' to him or Slim. Or Lucky! But it's inevitable, isn't it? I can't even think about that right now (smh). Elisa is tha truth!!!!! She be solderin' up with the best of 'em!!!!!! I sure hope Pierre is up for the battle Mari's about to bring to him! I sure as hell don't think Chantel is. I think Mari gon' strike a deal with that new dude from NY, get out, and bring the pain!!!! Rivera is a damn weasel! And I don't like him! Laurette gets on my nerves. She's so hell bent on revenge against my mens that I can't even see her visions of an empire happening. I hate to say it, but I like that Jean-Paul be like, man, $&ck that. Pierre better wake up an' take the reigns from his scorned-ass Momma. Or use her to see what Mari's scorned-ass is about to bring. Maybe Jean-Paul is gonna blackout on all their asses and take over. Afterall, his Daddy is an OG!!! Who is Pierre and Walter's father?! Could Slim be their brother?! OMG! OMG! And is there the slightest possibility that Lucky will tap Laurette for ol' time sake?! Him an' Jahmel ain't gettin' no punany lol. Or it just ain't gettin' written about! Devin, Devin, Devin...Lisa better watch her back before he pull a John-John move on her! Great reviews don't spoil the book for others, they let you know that key plot points were given. This series is just GREAT! I absolutely love that Slim stays true to who he is; have no fear the whole crew is here. You can feel the energy in this latest installment, and its popping! Some of your favorite characters storylines will end in unexpected ways. Several that you love to hate are still hanging in there gunning for Slim. The twist, there is a mole in the crew and it will shock you!
Love the book it was awesome keep up the good work Alex. I love slim and trish together and the crew I need more now cant wait until July. Its time for latanza to go to jail already and the Haitian to fall. please don't stop at ten I love this series. I own them all.they Make me feel as if I'm there with them. My best read today already read it twice.
ALEX RICHARDSON I can't believe you left me hanging like that lol ) I love how Alex always starts from the last book. Nothing is ever repeated like some authors do. I fell in love with this seris from the first book. I don't want to give anything away of what the crew is going through! I can't wait for the corner 10 I can't believe Latanza made it this far but I guess that means she's really gonna get it in book 10and she'll deserve everything that's coming to her! Great job Alex can't wait til July and after reading Vanessa that's next on my list.
Loved the book but it was too short. I'm a huge fan of this series and I look forward to each book as they come out. Slim and his crew are characters you grow to love, despite what they do for a living and when this series ends I just hope they all come out on top and most importantly, alive. I'm anxiously awaiting number 10 and I hope the next book will be about the downfall of Latanza and maybe even Laurette and her crew. Keep up the excellent work Alex Richardson!!
Alex Richardson is one of the best writers out there. This series is one of best books out right now and I love the fact that I don't have to wait for another year to past before Alex puts the next book out. Dread is such a nuisance that I actually wished he was a part of Slim's crew. The Haitians are still trying to gain traction on Slim's crew and the Russians are always there when you least expect it. Styles is still as crooked as can be but he may of bitten off more than he can chew this time. I think it's finally time for Lisa and Slim to cross paths as Trish was not built for Slim's lifestyle.. This is def another 5 star book and can't wait for part 10 to drop.
